Hitbox to host a second online tournament, featuring teams like Mousesports, Berzerk and ESG!, who will fight it out for a share of the $1,000 prize pool.

Arena Showdown will be a smaller affair than the streaming organisation's previous tournament, Arena Championship, which saw Titan defeat fnatic to take home the $1,750 prize.

The eight teams will be placed in a single-elimination bracket, to be whittled down to four in a series of best-of-one match-ups.

Those that make it through will meet in the semi-finals for a chance to play for the $750 first prize (the runner-up will receive $250). Both the semi-finals and the finals will be played as best-of-three contests.

The five teams confirmed as attending are:

Germanymousesports

GermanyBerzerk
SwedenESG!
DenmarkCopenhagen Wolves (as CPH.mix)

Nicolaj "Nico" Jensen of Copenhagen Wolves will not be available to play during the tournament; as such, his teammates will play as CPH.mix. The remaining three spots are currently open for application.

Arena Showdown will use the recently-revised ESL One map pool, and will run from July 14-16, with games being broadcast from 19:30  by CSArena on the Hitbox platform. HLTV.org will be providing coverage, so stay tuned.
